As a consequence of rapid progress of high technology in materials and metallurgical engineering areas such as in manufacturing (automotive, aircraft and marine) construction, chemistry, petrochemical, etc. the need of expert and professional with higher academic degree become inevitable. This is the main objective of establishment of postgraduate program in Metallurgical Engineering Department in 1992. The establishment is also in line with the vision of University of Indonesia to be a Research University in the year 2010. The existence of postgraduate program is expected to increase the quality and quantity of research activities.
Our postgraduates program offer 2 classes based on tuition fee:
- IDR. 8.000.000 / semester (class delivered from afternoon until night on working days)
- DR. 10.500.000 / semester (class delivered on Saturday morning until afternoon)
The postgraduate program in Metallurgical Engineering Department is divided into two (2) concentrations:
- Materials, and
- Corrosion.
In general, the curriculum structure for all concentration consists of 40 credits units that should be passed by the students in 3 or 4 semesters. The courses consist of 8 credits of mandatory subjects and 25 credits of the core subjects including 7 credits of seminar and thesis.
